Wildlife Sanctuary

FUREVER FREE
Over the years, we’ve said goodbye to some of the most extraordinary souls to ever grace our sanctuary. Each animal came to us with a story—some wounded, some weary, all in need of love. It has been one of the greatest honors of our lives to offer them safety, compassion, and a place to finally call home. We watched as fear turned into trust, pain into peace, and silence into joy. In giving them care, we were given so much more in return—lessons in resilience, grace, forgiveness, and the purest kind of love. They reminded us of the quiet beauty in healing, the strength in second chances, and the sacred bond between humans and animals. Though our time together was never long enough, we find comfort in knowing their final days were filled with gentleness, understanding, and dignity. They may no longer walk beside us, but their spirits live on in every corner of our sanctuary and in every heart they touched. They are no longer by our sides—but they are, and always will be, forever in our hearts.

Josh, the North American Black Bear.
Rescued after his mom was illegally hunted in the Carolina mountains. He loved snickers bars almost as much as we loved him.

Rocco, the Gray Wolf.
Rescued alongside Loki, Rocco was a force to be reckoned with. A mighty wolf with a soft side that was only seen by those who were patient and understanding. He was one of the largest wolves we have cared for with eyes so captivating you could help but stare.

Shaka, the Lion.
She was rescued from the cub petting practice. Hand raised by our sanctuary owners, Shaka never failed to keep things exciting for them. Shaka went against the grain, never quite cooperating with her caretakers instructions. Despite it all, you couldn't help but laugh and accept her for who she was.

Cheeky, the Bengal Tiger.
She was rescued from the illegal pet trade when she was a cub, she was completely declawed had fur loss on her cheeks from rubbing on the kennel she was kept in. She never failed to remind us of why she was the queen of the jungle.

Simba, the Western Cougar.
He privately owned 4 times before he came to us. He was one of the strongest and most resilient animals we have ever encountered. Despite his circumstances, he remained powerful and always held his head high, never failing to keep us on our toes.

Millie, the Lion.
Rescued alongside her sister Shaka, she was the definition of resilience. Born with epilepsy, Millie defied all odds for her entire life. She taught us lessons about strength and triumph. Though she faced challenges, she always held her head up high and fought for the life she knew she deserved. We miss her everyday.

Loki, the Gray Wolf.
He was rescued from the cub petting practice. Despite circumstances, Loki was the sweetest wolf you could ever know. He shared the sweetest relationship with our sanctuary owner, Martha. She loved him deeply and it was clear to anyone watching that his feelings were the same.

Rocky, the Siberian Tiger.
He was rescued from an exotic dancer who planned on incorporating him into her performances. He was the largest feline we ever cared for, though his heart was pure honey. Rocky touched the hearts of many with his tender and teddy bear like personality.

Kenya, the Brown Lemur.
He was rescued from private ownership after having all of his teeth pulled out. Although he faced the challenges of not being able to live with other lemurs or eat many elements of his natural diet, Kenya lived to be one of the eldest residents out of our entire sanctuary. Kenya was the kindest lemur you could ever meet. Always ready for armpit scratches and banana slices.
