Little Bob came to the Outpost as a very young cub by way of Colorado and was hand-raised and bottle fed because his mother either couldn't, or wouldn't, nurse him.   Cougars, also commonly called panther, puma and mountain lion are very closely related to the common house cat and do well in captivity which has made them a favored, illegally-owned, pet among drug lords.  Many of the panthers taken in by the Outpost over the years were confiscated as a result of DEA drug busts.  Cougars are  solitary, usually only coming together to mate; unlike other big cats, they cannot roar but do purr.
